In 2025, a leading high-end furniture manufacturer supplying premium retail outlets across London and other exclusive UK locations made the strategic decision to bring their entire finishing process in-house. Previously outsourcing their finishing operations, the company wanted greater control, improved consistency, and protection against rising logistics costs.

With the majority of their products comprising flat panel structures, the project scope naturally leaned towards an automated flat-bed spray line rather than a traditional enclosed spray room requiring manual hanging on conveyor tracks. Overcoming Project Challenges

The primary challenge was spatial.

The new paint shop was situated on a mezzanine floor, creating strict height restrictions. With the machine set at a fixed height and additional extraction systems required, tolerances were tight, leaving virtually no margin for floor level variation or installation error.

Through close collaboration between the design team and installation engineers, a precise execution plan was developed and delivered flawlessly. Despite the technical constraints, the installation was completed to specification.

Installation Process

Overall, installation was seamless for the customer.

The only minor challenge was that commissioning fell over the Christmas period, creating some scheduling pressures. However, careful coordination ensured that the new state-of-the-art paint shop was fully operational on the agreed date.
